When I lived in Oregon there was this special place I used to like to go for hikes up a creek to a place called the Faerie Pools. Once, when a big storm came through, I went up there to be with this special land in the pouring rain and mud and rushing waters. The ideal time to be with nature is not only when it is sunny and warm outside, right? I love when the land is dripping and lush, the colors and smells are so vibrant. So, I went up to my special spot and sat by the water at one of the main pools, creek waterfalling in swirls of bubbles and rainbows, wind brushing my cheeks and making my eyeballs cold. After a while of sitting there I was almost going to get up and move on, when something urged me to wait. Of course I was excited to see what might happen or what message I might receive. Then a big branch from a fallen down tree in the storm came flowing down the water into the pool in front of me, hit a rock, and bounced up into my lap! Wow, that was a surprising moment after sitting there in a still meditative space for so long.
Anyway, I felt like this was such a special gift given to me, so I made a simple rune set out of them. They have a sweet energy of the Fae, mixed with a gentle energy of the pools, mixed with the elemental energy of a refreshing storm. It is my go-to set for magical answers.
great story, beautiful runes! I have never been to this place of which you speak ... is this the place near Ashland?
Yes. I used to live in Ashland. The Faerie Pools are up a trail above Lithia Park.
These are gorgeous! :)
I love spontaneous gifts from Mother Earth, and the Fey as well :)
Such a nice story of being in-tuned to yourself and nature. Beautiful Runes ! I love nature too. Keep up the spiritual growth.
Those are very beautiful! Outstanding work! Do you know what wood it is? It almost looks like Hickory.
They are from a Yew tree. There were some branches with unmistakable needles on it and the yew's red berries, which I also saved the seeds from to use as beads.
