Tyriel [Rune Secrets Admin] replied to Kate Doyle's discussion Runes of the Havamal in the group Beginner's Guide Project
"Reading a couple different translations of the Havamal is a very rewarding investment of your time. It goes over much more wisdom than the runes that are mentioned, as well. My favourite of the Eddas."

A grid that evolved and spoke messages

Rune cast placed stones in a blurred yet clear enough grid, with two runes showing as constants, underpinning all and stabilising; three runes in a column to the left showing as shaping and constructing; five runes in a cross showing as the focal points for here and now, with representations of past, present, future, a higher order and a foundation and two runes in a column to the right showing what was sought, to be known and to be explored.Underpinning: Hagalaz, telling me the universe was…See More

Rune for this day Wednesday 27th June 2012

Before selecting my moonstone rune from it's snug little velvet pouch with Tree of Life insignia, I contemplated my day ahead.A short but intense meeting involving the immediate fate of a person's employment - not to be taken lightly.A long and potentially conflict-ridden meeting deciding the long term fate of a machine line and therefore probably eventual employment of a small group - much discussion, fact-gathering and analysis.I set my thoughts as to how I should "be".  In first meeting, it…See More

Runes of the Havamal

I found a site which provides some of the basic info that might assist our growing understanding ... As a beginner, I sometimes feel there is a need to see some of the history / mythology / saga on the runes so here is a link ...  Runes of the Havamal I especially liked it as it had a "magic spell" linkage that appealed to my Wiccan leanings, so I chose this for the post but there are some others on the site which…See More

Bhi Me, Beicht Me, Ta Me

Posted on June 16, 2012 at 8:21pm 10 Comments

I was

I will be

I am

Contemplating a Doyle family motto (Bhi Me, Beicht Me - Gaelic for 'I Was, I Will Be') and wanting to add Ta Me or 'I Am', I had to also think about which runes most resonated with the three phrases.

So I think ....

I was .... Inguz

I will Be ...... Dagaz

I am ...... Laguz

What does anyone else think?
