About Me
I'm an Anglo-saxon Heathen with an interest in Wiccecraeft, Runcraeft, Leechcraeft and various other "Craefts". I'm universalist and modernist in approach, though like to think that what I do is in the spirit of elder Heathenry. I'm a "shiny sun-wheels and rainbows" type Heathen and approach my gifting cycle with Gods, Landwights and Ancestors with joy, seeking always to infuse the process with beauty and love. I've decided to update my concept of soul-lore to be more in keeping with what would appear to be the elder concept of a 3-fold soul-body complex which was roughly analogous to the 3 main levels of the Irminsul, ie Aethm/Ond - Heofon, Wode - Middle Earth, Fleshly Form - Underworld/Hellestow. To return to one of the original myths of the ensoulment of humankind, in this case in the Poetic Edda (Voluspa):

I managed to get hold of these out-of-print rune cards by Ralph Blum (even though I don't personally follow his system) cheaply on Ebay - they're not the original ones he did but a later set created with artist Gabrielle Gern. They're basically collage type artwork with sticks, feathers, stones etc, which I really adore. I trimmed the white borders off them though which contained a keyword for each card, and I think they look much better now -…

I have oft admired the lovely artwork of Caroline Smith in her Elemental Tarot, and also her rendering of the Elder Futhark runes in the Runic Tarot which she created with Astrologer John Astrop. However, rather irritatingly, they chose to use Celtic names for the festival cards in the minor arcana of this latter deck, which, whilst I'm not really a cultural purist or anything, sort of put me off them for a long time (don't ask me why, I just didn't connect with the idea at all).
