Hi, from Argyll, Runes here are fairly well linked to Celtic esotericism, particularly at Kilmartin, Argyll, and Dunadd Hill,Argyll where runic carvings may be observed on rocks and standing stones. The stone circles at Kilmartin are marked with various symbols, some runic. I think there is a close relation between Argyll and the ancient Norse traditions in relation to Runes and their use. I suggest Edred Thorssons works for a scholarly review. I myself have made several rune sets and consecrated them in and around the Kilmartin area, with excellent results. Best wishes, J
