Thought I would share my rune focus with those who care to look here.  The way I do my rune focus is on each Wednesday I pull a rune card from my rune deck and keep it out in view.  Sometimes it does seem like it sometimes has an effect on the week though.  This week.  I created my second rune deck.  The first one was lost.  Feel honored that Mom put her energy into this set.  Cutting the paper that was used for it.  Anyway. After the rune deck was made.  I went and started my rune focus and pulled Gebo.  The rune of gifts.

Care to upload some photos of your deck? I believe you can upload them right to the site, even into a comment or series of comments :)

Here is the set.  Daguz was drawn differently due to my past connection with it.  I posted a little about that in the comment section of the rune.Wanted to take a picture and share the three rune necklaces I got from the Bristol fair.  I understand that the runes can be translated into English letters also, so got my initials and wear them often.

Ah, that's great! Have you thought of doing your own art for them, like Tarot?

Comment by Jimmy Dean Roberts on July 20, 2012 at 1:45am

A good possibility.  I think I will during, or after the time I retake art class due to being rusty with my skill with the brush.  Plus to finish classes.  I am already thinking of how I would do it.  Picking something connected to each rune.  Animal, meaning, aspect, or element and do it that way.

I love that you made your own cards Jimmy! I pull a card (sadly not made by me!) every week too and find that it does reflect what happens in that week. Last week I pulled one of Sylvia Gainsford's Rune Vision cards (Uruz) which depicts the God Vidar the Silent along with an aurochs in the background - I thought that perhaps there would be strength to be found in keeping silent about something, and it turned out to be very true!! (I nearly really lost my temper about something, but was pleased I didn't "let fly" in the moment because it turned out that, in this case, discretion was the better part of valour!)

Very nice Lara.  Am very happy that the rune deck was made by me and mom.  Energies from the two combined together.  I know what you mean about it reflecting the week.  Posted my experance with Gebo that I had so far.  Very happy about what I did in honor of those who helped me in the past.  Thinking about it.  Raidho would have been my last week's rune focus.  Reflecting on that week.  It was also like soul food.  Spending time with those I love and care about that are a good distance away.  Knowing it was needed.

Early Wednesday morning here.  Pulled the next rune of the rune deck and I pulled Nauthiz.  To me the rune of need.  Look forward to seeing how this week plays out.

Getting close to 1 am and pulled the next rune. Dagaz, the rune of day. Feel like my last rune focus was fullfilled through music.  That it was calling for spiritual growth.

Wow, I just finished making my own rune set but now I see this I love the idea of rune cards with personal art. Unfortunatly I'm not that gifted in drawing, but my best friend is, so I pitched the idea to her :)
Jimmy, I'm very interested in knowing if you feel a synchronisity between your rune-of-the-week and the events and insights that occur in that week, do you keep a diary of some sort where you write these things down? I understand if sharing some things might be too personal, but I'm interested in the effects you notice in general :) Greetings!

Lessons of Hagalaz: Rune of Disaster and Healing

In the face of disaster, compassionate human beings discover that they do not break, but become stronger. We discover that our communities come together, even on a global scale, in face of unimaginable destruction. When the universe shows its inimical side, the side that couldn't care less about average human affairs, it's as if we come together to show overwhelmingly that we care for one another. When the universe demonstrates that it cannot be depended upon, that it is more than able to wreck havoc, we react by showing that we can depend upon one another.
