Runes on different spots on the body

Hello everyone
I have silently been following quite intensively, and have recently started to experiment drawing specific runes on my own body and sometimes that of friends to support them in certain situations. (I use henna paint). My favorite spots are at the back of the neck or the inside of the arm.

My question: does anyone have experience with the working of the runes when painted on different parts of the body? How would you choose the best place to let the rune be as efficient as possible?
Thank You! Isa

I'm happy you decided to create an account!

I used to draw runes on my body, particularly during my early shamanic experiences.

They can be very effective. The best advice I can give to answer your question is to feel it out yourself, from your understanding of the rune meaning, and the energy you feel in conjunction with any particular spot on your body. I resist a definite 'method' because everyone's interpretation of the runes is different (and generally valid), and everyone's body is unique.

You will get the most powerful results by exploring it yourself, by paying close attention, and using the rune energies to help you meditate or anchor yourself to certain foci.

Some key spots are wrists, palms, back of hands, fingertips and, if you want to go 'all out' during a shamanic exercise, forehead.

Back of the neck and inside the arm are perfectly fine, if those spots seem to resonate with you!

Let us know how it goes.

But what about reverse runes? Where is the "up" and where the "down" on my wrist? And what if I draw Laguz reversed on my wrist?

Don't make complicated decisions about it. If you have a doubt about placing a rune somewhere on yourself, don't do it. There's no benefit, in this situation, to wondering if you'll experience adverse effects or not. The whole point is to feel confident. If you don't, then don't commit to writing the rune in that spot!

When I or my children need some extra support I spit on my finger and draw the appropriate rune on the forehead. Does wonders.

I find that it depends upon what I want to influence. If I am wanting to influence myself everywhere, on my torso/stomach works well. If I trying to influence external things, the arms or legs are a good focus. If I am healing something, generally as close to the spot to be healed as you can. Experimentation is good. YOu might also study up on subtle energy centers and channels of the body like the chakras and chi meridians from acupuncture practices.

Thank you all for your replies. Interesting, because it means that one's intention towards another person in combination with a rune also works (referring to Angela's comment), and not only your psychology towards yourself

I do take into account the chakra's and then just try to feel what would be good.

What Tyriel writes: if you don't feel confident, then don't do it. As a beginner, I am never REALLY sure (-;

I recently did a ritual when I was bleeding (moontime) and painted in blood; Mannaz on my chest (heart chakra) and Perthro above my uterus (sacral/root chakra) with a dot of blood on my forehead. it was the most "magically charged" I have ever felt. I have also done some hand henna with runes involved,  but it has been years. I am really interested in helping my kids when they are stressed with the saliva-drawn runes that Angela mentions. :) could you let me know which ones you use for which situations with them? (mine are both under 4 years old)

Thanks! :)

I am using DAGAZ to heal small wounds (cuts and bruises)

Have you noticed that nurses and doctors use this special cross-binding when applying bandages. It is like applying DAGAZ, but they don't know what they are doing. Guess this is just common knowledge from somewhen - it is done because it was done all the time like this.

I've been writing runes on my body for about 2 1/2 years, basically since I became aware of the runes. This includes a portion of my bind runes, as well as, and in combination with Hermetic planetary symbols. VERY POWERFUL forces are derived from this in my experiences.

My contiousness began to shift, My dealings with people became better, my awareness of occult matters increased exponentially, the spirits around me express themselves more positively, etc.

I left these different sigil combinations on my arm for months at a time, rewriting them every day to invoke their powers. I would suggest this to anyone as a powerful means to imbue a deeper awareness of teh runes upon oneself.

hey john thanks for your comment, it would be cool to see some of your bindrunes...

i massage and i am using the runes as a kind of healing energies on the people that come. What you wrote before about the magic circle interests me a lot but i have difficulties visualizing it. I do use circles, squares and triangles to position runes when i do a reading, and i use these shapes also during massaging.
